Just a short note.

Greetings one and all,

It's been a hard road the past few weeks. There is much to overcome, and grief has no boundary.

Even in my silence the scriptures, quotes and thoughts to ponder change frequently.... new links are added at random. Check back often, even if new posts are not delivered to your mail box.

It's been busy with Graduations and the end of year events... I hope everyone is enjoying the break from school and finding plenty to do this summer.

Vacations, adventures and 'camp'.... oh ya.

Enjoy some time OUTSIDE, we all spend too much time, in the house, the car, stuck in traffic, waiting for appointments.....
Spend some time outside...
It's great for the healing process, meanwhile,
We'll be back to normal before you know it.
Who knows what the next post will be about?
Until then,

Blessed by God

What a Weekend

my Granddaughter turned 5 this weekend and she wanted to go fishing for her birthday! So we spent half the day fishing Saturday. Caught nothing, but she learned how to cast and bait the hook... You got to start somewhere. Then it was home for hotdogs and cake. And presents of course!!
It was refreshing to see a desire for something not electronics or toys.

It was a busy weekend for many with dad's and grads. Sad that so few men stand worthy of the recognition, and half the grads don't know how to read or do math enough to make change at the check out.

It's a different world.

I noticed a freight truck on the highway the other day. Plastered on the 3 visible sides of the truck..

Arrogant Bastard Ale with a picture deplicting the devil.

Ya, the devil is laughing at all the people headed to hell and they don't even know it. He doesn't even have to try and win souls, people are choosing hell on their own.

So many building we call Churches, full of people, where maybe half are living for Christ, the other half there to look good.

Busy weekend indeed.

I started not feeling well Saturday evening and by Sunday morning my blood pressure was alarmingly low. I made it home from the store before collapsing in a chair, where I spent the rest of the day quietly resting.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and for those men that know what it means to be a dad, Happy father's day.

This is as good as it gets

All I ever wanted was a little house to call home, horses in the backyard; And for my kids to show up for Sunday dinner once in a while.{I used to love to cook. And have big family feasts.}

As parents you want your children to grow up happy with a solid foot on life. Never want for them to have to deal with violence or tragedy, You Hope for the best of health.. and everyone wants the joy of grandchildren. Watching your family grow.

It's always nice to hear your kids have found God, but it isn't something to shove down their throats. I love my kids so much it's hard to imagine them not in heaven.

Lead by example and hope they follow.
You do the best you can, and hope for the rest. Life doesn't always follow a plan and others can change the direction of your path.

In the end, it's as good as it gets.

The door is open and the coffee is on,

Welcome to the Bright side of the Barn.

Who's sick?

DaSaun finally got his day with Grama, and he wanted to ride the horses. Buddy looked at me with sad eyes when I put him on StarBright.
So we did a " just sit here for a minute ride "
with Buddy too.

My grandson has no fear with the horses.
Buddy has been back to his old self since the other night. No more seizures have happened since.

Quality of life

Buddy is about 27 years old.
He's an amazing horse.
Last night for the first time in my life I had to watch my horse have seizures. Not once but 3 times. The worst thing ever! With no warning. Why? Even his vet is stumped.

This morning he appears to be Buddy again.

However Buddy is no longer sound to be ridden. For his and everyone safety, Buddy is officially retired.

In the event he continues to have seizures, we have to think about quality of life and .......

Roads to Build

My new floors can wait, my  Grandson has roads to build!

And he's pretty focused on the job too. I love watching imagination at work.

That's Close !!

Many, many years ago.... I backed my car into a pole at the grocery store.
Put a V into the trunk so big, fixing it was not an option.

It wasn't just any car. It was a 1972 Ford Maverick, 2 door, blue?
My husband bought it for $600, and he was the 3rd original owner. All of the paperwork from the original purchase and every repair were in it.
The blue? was so dark and dingy I wasn't sure it was Blue.
We washed it, and again, and again. Then we took rubbing compound to it, again and again and finally waxed it.
A beautiful metallic Colbalt Blue..

The motor a straight 6. Hubby found a Ford Mustang with a 289 just rebuilt {the guys kid totaled the car} So we picked up the motor cheap. Hauled it home and converted the straight 6 into a V 8.... oh ya...

Swapped the tranny, switched the shifter to the floor.... traction bars,  and I had the sweetest little ride...

{My nickname back then was HOT ROD HANNA, My plates HR HANNA}

That car could fly!

So much for his cheap work car!
I really did appreciate all he did for me with the cars... I don't think he ever knew how much it meant to me.

In any case ~

after totaling my baby; I've had phobia's with backing up.

NOW

As soon as I got my new truck that has 4 backup sensors on it, I managed to back it into a fence post right between the sensors and they never went off.!  Really nice dent and FIRST EVER IN THE TRUCK.
Leave it to me.

Now one sensor is bent slightly ~ so they go off when I need them too!

With many years and much practice....

I HAVE MASTERED BACKING UP!!!

you can't even get a pinky finger in there and no I did not ever hit the door!!!!!!

The Sound of Music

The chickens and Sophia are enjoying the sun.. while Listening to the sound of music as all the birds sing and chirp along. The occasional horse snort or hoof pounding can be heard as a back beat. The goats and lil Rachael add the vocals singing
 "ma ma"....

There's a woodpecker that lives nearby, you can hear him knocking in the mornings and evenings. Sometimes he joins us for lunch here at the barn. That is a very awesome visit indeed.

As you can tell, or at least hopefully you can tell by now... I love the birds.

We have bird houses and feeders all along the barn that attract several species. With a dozen nests inside the barn, many call this home..

So far our nests include:

House Sparrows
Barn Swallows
and even a
Hummingbird nest.

I've hung the 'Bat house' hoping they move in as well. It would be so cool to have a family of bats!! { Help save an endangered species }

Nights are just as beautiful, with the bats swirling around and the owls hooting from the patch of trees not far away.

Life is good!
You just got to take the time to enjoy it.

Down with the Wall

I took down the playpen fence for the chickens. Today was the first day of FREEDOM; and they are loving it.

But at the slightest 'noise' they boogie for the barn door. Notice it's only open a chicken width. Just in case the eagle comes for brunch, they won't be the main course.

1 little, 2 little 3 little... yep all 13 chickens present and accounted for. I didn't lose any of the babies, as I was told I would. I guess buying 13 chicks I should have only ended up with 10 or 12?

Everyone is growing up healthy wealthy and wise, as far as chickens go. The have a stall, perches everywhere and now the freedom of the farm. I don't like fences and putting animals in containers. They were created to be free roaming.

So most of the flowers were moved next to the house, just so there wouldn't be too much chicken poop in the pots. While I was out there rearranging things, look at what bloomed!!! I just love the delicate pastel flowers.. Reminds me of fairies and leprechauns.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead. Summer is soon to be here!
