Happy New Year!! 2023

From our Family to Yours!

December 30, 2022

WOW ~ 2023!

 I remember being younger and wondering what the future would hold. Mind you I come from a time where TV's weighed a ton, phones were connected to the walls and kids played safely outside!

 And look at where we are now!
We call them SMART TV'S

The world has changed in so many ways and so many directions.
Things are multiplied into choices beyond choices. It used to be small - medium - or large and now you have to add petite and super size. Chips used to be plain, ruffled or BBQ now, you name the flavor and they got it. We started with 1 phone company, now you decide who you want to get your phone service from.

Sometimes I think we have too many choices, it's no wonder many folks can't make up their minds. What's next? What does the future hold?

What are your future plans?

Do you do the resolutions, set goals, or just celebrate the accomplishments of last year.?

Me ~ I'm always setting goals, making plans and celebrating what we've accomplished. I need to, it's what keeps me motivated. I don't try to be better than anyone else, but I'm always striving to be better than I was yesterday.

It's really getting hard to imagine what's next. Technology has created nearly everything there is to create it seems like. It's hard to believe but We have little robots going into your body doing surgeries now, so really - what's next.

Once you get to a certain age in your own life, you've accomplished what you set out to do, or settled for where your at {often a better place than you were driving yourself too}

So, what is in store for 2023?

I'm simple this year.

  • Build my business
  • Fix the car
  • Get second car
  • Horse trailer
  • New Saddle
  • Quit smoking cigarettes completely.
  • Pay off Bills

Accountability

If your going to set goals or make resolutions - write them down! The best way to make yourself accountable to yourself is to write it down and have to look at your own handwriting every day.....

I hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS and wonderful holiday time this year.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and

Happy New Year!!

INVISIBLE DISABILITIES

I Had to go to the Doctors today and have another bone density scan.

 Parking was crazy, had to drive around a bit until a disabled spot opened up. You would be amazed at how many people give me dirty looks when I'm getting in or out of my car. I "LOOK" normal. Sometimes I "WALK" normal. Almost all the time " I HURT LIKE HELL, with each step."

I come by my disability benefits rightfully, even though you can't see it.

Underneath it all

It's taken a few years to recover from a couple strokes, a major car accident and a whole lifetime of COPD & PTSD. Not to mention the tendon on my left foot I tore last winter, which has still not healed.

At least

I can proudly say My med's have been cut way back!!!!! I used to be able to fill a plate with the number of pills I was supposed to take everyday.
Now, a recent appointment with the Doctor and we did some serious adjusting and reducing ~ at last ~ it's not too bad!

Spiriva HandiHaler 18 MCG Caps

I inhale for the lungs I have COPD

methocarbamol 750 MG Tabs

Quantity180 Tablets
Day supply30
The pain and spasm's in my back and hips allow me to take them steady.

buPROPion 300 MG Tb24

The ANXIETY which is an ongoing side effect of long term PTSD, but I'm down to 1 pill a day!

NO MORE
  • anti depressants
  • narcotic pain pills
  • secondary pills to protect my stomach from the narcotics
  • secondary anxiety pills

You see, I live with

The probability of ending up in a wheelchair a scooter at the very least.

~~~~~~
If you read the results of My last MRI
Dr.Pxxx has reviewed your results. L5-S1 (transition region between the lumbar spine and sacral spine in the lower back) disc herniation (cushion that sits between the spinal vertebra is pushed outside its normal position) with compression against right S1 nerve root. A referral has been placed to interventional pain management Dr.Gxxx, for a consultation for a possible epidural injection.
~ you can see that the doctors recognize the amount of pain I live with.
Today's Density results
There has been an interval 3.4% decrease in bone mineral density of the lumbar spine and 1.9% decrease in bone mineral density of the left total hip compared to the prior examination under the National Osteoporosis Foundation, the ten-year probability of major osteoporotic fracture (clinical vertebral forearm, hip and shoulder) is 8.9%. The ten-year probability of hip fracture is 1.7%.
~ measure how close I'm getting to the wheel chair.
Until then I walk, I ride and I am grateful for every step I get to take.
I just really wish people would not judge what they don't know. Just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it isn't there. Just like AIR AND GOD, many folks have disabilities YOU CAN'T SEE.
 The countdown is closing in with only 3 days left!
School and work are wrapping up in the next couple days for many folks. Last minute shopping is underway. The grocery stores are getting busy with the final preparation materials for the great almighty feast!
What are you Christmas Traditions?
Church at midnight? or in the morning?
Turkey, Ham or Roast Beast or ? something else
Presents Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
Dinner at your house or do you do the traveling.
I would love to hear a few of your traditions this year.
As for me, it looks like I'm doing the traveling this year and having multiple dinners... So hopefully the weather will be in my favor as it's already starting to snow!
Let's Talk about the Links
 Anytime you click the title BRIGHT SIDE OF THE BARN , it will bring you back to the home page.
Along the left side are 'sharing' links. If you are affiliated with any of the icons shown, you can simply click your icon and share the post to your site. All necessary tags and credits will follow.
The dark boxed links along the top will take you away from this site in most instances. You can right click your mouse and select to open them in a new window if you would prefer not to navigate away from the BARN just yet.
Most of these links are for entertainment or shopping recommendations. We have the YouTube Channel for videos of our horses and other weird things.
The link to my personal business is also listed among them. I do Notary work locally in WASHINGTON state, on the WEST SIDE of the mountains. My ad page is on the social media platform NEXTDOOR.
 I have worked in direct sales as an independent distributor of SIMPLY FUN GAMES for the past 3 years and I am currently changing markets to TOUCHSTONE CRYSTAL. My personal injuries have made it a bit difficult to pack the two cases of games and do the 'event set ups'. I am also looking for folks that want to earn a few bucks selling the SIMPLY FUN GAMES, I would love to help you get started.
I love books and have promoted reading throughout our lives with my children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. UBAM BOOKS are a great way to purchase books and another great way to earn a few bucks sharing your love of books with others.
I have always been a fan of PARTY LITE CANDLES so the chance to share their link and earn a few candles for myself was an opportunity to good to pass up.
TIMBER'S PHOTOGRAPHY is hubby's site where he has shared many of his amazing photographs taken while out and about in nature. Being one that loves to explore, there are many great finds among the prints available.
TUPPERWARE was something that I sold years ago when my children were young. It helped put many Christmas presents under the tree. Now my oldest daughter has carried on the tradition and is currently our local TUPPERWARE LADY. She also has the ability to do long distance parties anywhere in the US!! Check it out, Tupperware has come a long ways since the 70's.
Down along the RIGHT SIDE of the page is our random image and thought. When you get to the ARCHIVES you can look back at every post ever written here @ THE BRIGHT SIDE OF THE BARN all the way back to the biginning.
There's a second chance at the links from the top just above our counter. We are proud at the number of visitors that have passed through our site and we welcome  everyone !!
For the love of HORSES and the love of our BACK COUNTRIES, I have shared all the relevant links to my horse connections and the trails here in our beautiful state of WASHINGTON.
The opportunity to get to know me a little more is here in my profile link, as well as the links to any social media presence I may have. Just to let you know - I don't have many! Once you are in the FB zone, you can find the pages to my business and the groups that I run as well.
And finally, the chance to hear from YOU!!!!  Questions, comments, suggestions and recommendations are all welcome.
At the very bottom to the left are my favorite recipes and to the right are the birds that visit our feeder!
And that about wraps up the ins and outs of the links here at the BRIGHT SIDE OF THE BARN.
Miracles Happen Everyday!
It's been amazing to have so many things happen in the right direction, back to back. After struggling for so long, it's nice to see good things happen. God knows our needs, even when we don't ask. He knows our hearts and when we're trying, He's right there with us, helping clear the path. I'm hoping 2023 will be a better year. We've had a lot of things happen this past year and I'm hopeful for great things to come!!!!
You can't see the miracles if you don't have the faith to believe. And this is the season of believing.
Yesterday was Rough!
🌛 So last night I cleared the air. Let people know they misunderstood me🥰, then I told a few of those that owe me 💵to give their families a good Christmas 🎁🎁🎁and remember me after the new year🙃🎉🎊. Then I Sat down and paid💰💰 the critical bills. 😥😴🌛 I woke up today went to work and cleaned the store, 😷, Then on a break 🤔I was able to calculate I will be able to pay my son 💵💵this weekend to put the lights on the house🏡, pay my horse🐴 bills next week and some Christmas 🎁is on its way to be delivered📬! My boss😎 came in at 8 when Im supposed to be off only to discover neither of my coworkers showed up or called.😲 He will be looking for new people if they cant get it together. 🙂 Came home to the Christmas tree🌲 being ransacked by the cats 😻😹😸😺🙀all because they wanted a candy cane🍭off of the 🌲.
And you wonder why... when people ask me ~ How are you? I just say ALWAYS GOOD.
