At the Bright side of the Barn.

It's been a while.... I've been really busy! When I do sit down I end up too tired to think much less blog.... my apologies.

I have less than a week and I have to have my life on a new schedule.
{I have serious OCD's and schedules are a must!!} Honestly, 'time management' should be a class in high school. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you have your time under control.

In any case. School starts June 1st and the summer session is 16 weeks of work in 8 weeks... so I'll be double timing it the first round. Hopefully fall will slow down a bit and I'm there for at least 2 years.

I bought a new used truck... bigger than the last one. It's at the shop, getting a safety check and a few needed parts. I drove it one day, made a list and it's been almost a week! Can't wait til the Beast is home. I still have the little Kia. I'm letting someone use it. Which has left me without a set of wheels for a week. ...

Like I haven't stayed home enough with the quarantine.?  {Sigh}. My states starting to open up, how's yours? This whole thing is crazy.... Like really who wants to go back to work and lose 600 bucks a week? They didn't think that one through  now did they?

I've added 2 horses and gotten rid of 2 goats and a rooster. Life's a bit quieter around here. The 2 loudest most annoying things on a farm are goats and roosters.... and now my little corner of the world is much, much quieter.

Mornings are spent watching the "Flight of the Swallows". Blue angels are amateur flyers, compared to these little guys. It's amazing how they can swoop down and you think they are going to hit the building and just in the nick of time they turn...... and fast!!
I would love to get a video,  but it just wouldn't do them justice.

I went out the other day and snapped a couple pictures.... Love the clouds that day!  I thought you might enjoy a virtual visit to the Bright side of the Barn....

Welcome to my world.
Come on in...

The chicken yards are done and the ducks fence is portable. Everyone get to get out and run around in the grass, and then go in their own yards when I'm not home.... No eagle shall get any of my feathered fowls... under my watch!  Hopefully.

The firepit is ready, wood split and stacked nearby.... The sunsets are amazing here. Everything is ready for the last cup of coffee and a few marshmellows at the end of the day.......

The garden is planted and starting to sprout.

The flowers are blooming and strawberries are starting to pop up!

Lil Star the new Mini Mare, is starting to settle in and adjust to our routine. She did very well with her new trainer and her first lesson.
She's quite young and has never been trained...

Juliet is amazing with horses...
Check out her site and talents.!   JC Horsetraining

Star Bright and Lil Star have started to bond. I think my girl was getting lonely. She sure gets upset when her little buddy gets out of sight. And Lil Star only throws a fit when her big sister is out of sight. I can't wait to get Polaris here... For those that don't know. Polaris is the brightest star in the sky and it's the end of the ladle handle in the little Dipper. Polaris is a yearling, that will be joining us this coming week. His color is amazing!

I've been doing a lot of cleaning in the barn.... the goats leave Thursday, and their stall is the last thing to clean up and get ready for the new horse.

The stool stays in front of Lil Star's stall so the grand kids can see their pony when they come to the barn... There's a few treats in the red bucket and yes, Lil Star has figured that out. On her way in the barn at night she trys to snitch one.

The ducks come in at night. Each pair has a crate in the hay room and they walk into the barn and go into the crates on their own. Mornings they follow me out to the ponds.... Ducks are so easy to train!!!

I bet you looked twice at that last picture....

What is it? you ask.

It's an electric, filtered, water bowl for the cat's and dog. They love it!! I have cats that like to drink out of the faucet and with the running water spout, they drink more. The water is always clean and fresh and it's pretty quiet....

Spoiled fur babies....

I've been sewing for my grand babies. One turns 18 tomorrow, and Batman accessories for her room was a request. Masks for the virus of course... Sponge Bob makes a cute little face. I found Disney princess aprons, so the younger girls each got one. And crocheting Barbie clothes is still a daily project with an outfit request list to go with it.

As I said, I've been really busy. I hope to get a blog out at least once a week. Once the school schedule starts, it'll be easier.

Well that's about all for now, Hope you enjoyed your visit. Come back any time.

A little about Us ~ Revised.

Life happens and things change.

Us...

Is still me and the animals. However, a few of us have passed on and a few new members have joined the herd. I am still in the 5th wheel living on the Bright side of the Barn. Literally. The dirt paddocks have turned to luscious green grasses.

CHANGES.....

We are looking for a new home for the goats. Joey and Phoebe. I have come to realize that I am just not a goat mom. I feel they deserve better, someone who truly enjoys and loves goats.

Miss Star Bright is still the queen of the barn.

Since the adoption out of Odessa and My Angel and the passing of Buddy, she has been alone for almost a year.

And now has a new little friend. "My lil Shining Star"

The grand kids now have a pony to call their own.

I have chickens and more chickens. With about 8 eggs a day now, and 18 a day starting here in a few weeks. We have what's called 'Easter eggers', which is a variety of chickens that lay a variety of colored eggs. So it will be fun to see what colors we get everyday !

Then there are the ducks. It was supposed to be 3 pairs of 3 different breeds. So far I know that the Swedish are both male, and it looks like the runners are both male. So if we have a female it will be the white crested. Daisy Duck may be changing to D Duck....

Oh well. I love ducks so it really doesn't matter.

The house has become quiet. With only the 3 cats left. It's quite different. And much to adjust to.

There is one more new member coming, but I'll leave it for now as it's a surprise for someone......

So there you have it. The new US. Things have changed. Yet, so much is still the same. The love the peace and the joy are all still here.

Life. ....
Just breathe and walk on.
You can get through anything.
