Rescue for Profit?

 Ok, I know 'to rescue a stray' can be a costly event. Medical treatment, getting vaccines current and restoring their overall health, can be time consuming and expensive. I know, I've rescued a couple horses.

BUT

 Before I get into this let me state, I understand why the city shelters charge a SMALL fee to adopt a pet. They provide for many and have for many years. The fee doesn't come close to the cost. That's why we pay taxes that in part support the animal shelters. Those taxes allow them to keep the adoption fees low. So people can actually afford to adopt a pet.

But are people finding a way to profit off of suffering pets.....

 I stopped by a shanty looking shelter event, 10 x 10 pop up, with healthy mid aged puppies. The claim they were brought up from Mexico. Cute puppies. We have so many strays and unwanted animals in our own country I don't understand why we'd ship them in from other countries?

THE COST $1200.00

 With a claim they've had shots, been fixed and chipped.

I would have gladly given $120 to adopt a puppy, but $1200 had the words SCAM written all over it.

I'm looking to find another puppy companion since my service dog passed away last Christmas. I paid $800 for her 16 years ago. She was pure bred, met her parents, could see her blood lines.....first shots NO CHIP, that was left to be MY CHOICE as it should be.

I'm concerned at the over priced costs to 'adopt a rescue', I think people are getting pretty rich off of animals suffering. Something isn't right. People are seeing a way to profit over others that pity the poor suffering pets.

and the SMALL REHOMING FEES that have reached almost $1000 in some cases.

If you want an animal rescued and to a good home KEEP THE COSTS LOW AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK THAT IT'S A GOOD HOME, they wouldn't be living at your shelters for so many years and the cost wouldn't be so high. The costs are high because of too many pets coming in and not going out.

Why I drive on E {Empty}

 I'm famous for running on E {Empty} and running out of gas. My daughter buys me a AAA membership, cause it's easier than loading all the kids and bringing me gas.

 Tonight, I'm all but out of gas at work. Hey, I made it to work! However, I knew I'd be walking to 4 corners because my truck would run out before I got out of the parking lot. I was joking around about it at work and a very kind customer came back with his gas can and got me a couple gallons to get to town. You see I work at a GAS STATION, however, our tanks are being replaced and there is no gas.

 So, why do I drive on E.? I've had so many people give me crap about this..........

You see ~

 Several years ago, I had my tank full and my car parked in my back yard. Of course that very night was the night MY CAR WAS STOLEN. The police found it later the next day wrapped around a pole - TOTALED. I've never filled my tank and left my car over night since.

 If someone steals my vehicle, they won't get but 2 miles down the road. I put in what I need to get where I'm going and home again. Just enough to get to the gas station to do it again.
