It's Back to School Season!

 Happy Tuesday!

It used to be typically that on this Tuesday ~ Everyone, everywhere - went 'back to school'.

Traditionally ~
This is the 'First day of School', 'End of Summer', 'Back to the work routine'...
Time to pack up the summer clothes and dig out the bulky sweaters, cause winter is a comin'. DAY.

Please be aware of SCHOOL BUSES and the KIDS running around to get on or off them.

Sometimes I miss the days of taking the kids shopping for school clothes and supplies. I miss the smell of the 'old school buildings'. Sometimes, I miss the noise around the house of having the kids here.

Then I remember the feeling of sanity the first day back to school. The quiet peace I have now. The clean house that I don't really have to clean anymore..........

Nope, I think I miss the noise and craziness more!

Thank God for Grandchildren to keep the crazy going, at least for a few more years.....

But then they too grow up. They are all in school or beyond into motherhood and raising families, now too... I will admit, Being a Great Grandma is pretty awesome!

Nope - I'm really not that dang old, just have that many generations under my belt.

I've seen a lot of changes over the years. I'm most shocked by the changes in our education systems and how bad it's become. Training young employees in a new position,

Many of us 'old timers' ask the fatal question ~

"WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING KIDS IN SCHOOL THESE DAYS?"

We would really like to know....

I also wonder what are 'parents teaching their children' these days?
One of my last 'trainee's' didn't even know how to mop a floor!

Please feel free to share what it's like where you are, just click 'comments' below and tell us about it! Love to hear from you.

Retirement ~

Swing shift for many, many years.... TV dinners, sandwiches, micro chili, and many other quick choices to call dinner. After the COVID situation, the company cafeteria closed, only recently reopening. Second shift would always be the left overs from day shift lunches, so the frozen micro meals were better looking more often than not.

Today started with lounging around til noonish, then brunch at Denny's. {He wanted to explore the 55 plus menu, only to end up ordering from the regular menu.} Then it was accomplish a few 'honey do's' . There was some things that have needed done for the business equipment and supplies to get organized. Finishing with being able to BBQ and enjoy a real dinner. To be followed by a nice walk through the neighborhood with Chanelle to end the night.

The last week of work was really hard on him. There was a few days I wasn't sure he'd make it all night. It's a real relief to see him able to relax and rest. We have an event for 2 of the 3 day weekend, then next week it's orders and doctor appointments and product prepping.. I almost have the event schedule booked up to Christmas! So we have much work to do to get products ready.

Total time 'retired' 2 days. His business is now his job and he has to learn to work for himself rather than for someone else. This requires creating habits that are productive, being consistent, and staying motivated. You have to get up every day and do something towards networking and working your business.

We have some business investments coming in the next couple weeks. A few new pieces of equipment, and some wonderful manufacturing products. It's going to be exciting setting up the new production room and getting started. With a scheduled photo shoot at least once every couple weeks, we should have some amazing prints for Christmas!!

Retiring isn't just about leaving your job. It's about making time for the things you really want and enjoy doing.. Life is taking on a whole new perspective.

Like turning onto a new road for the first time!
